Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism
Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training helps health and social care professionals develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support autistic people and people with a learning disability.
Centred on lived experience, the training covers effective communication, reasonable adjustments and person-centred care. It also helps organisations strengthen inclusive practice and understand their responsibilities in relation to CQC expectations and relevant codes of practice.
Our Oliver McGowan training is practical, engaging and designed to help professionals apply what they learn in real health and social care settings.
Makaton Training and Courses
Makaton is introduced as part of Oliver McGowan Tier 2 training, highlighting the importance of accessible and inclusive communication. Our Makaton training gives professionals practical skills to communicate more effectively with people who use signs and symbols to support understanding.
As a Makaton Regional Tutor, I deliver engaging, practical courses that build confidence in using Makaton in everyday settings. The training helps professionals reduce communication barriers, support choice and create more meaningful connections with the people they work with.
Inclusive communication is about more than learning signs. It is about giving people greater opportunities to express themselves, make choices and be understood.
